| "Barley is to beer as grapes are to wine." --- Bill Coors | SVF has been growing malting barley for Coors for over forty years. At harvest our barley goes through the Coors screening process where it is tested for moisture content, color, protein, and plumpness. SVF has been awarded the Coors Barley "Grower of the Year", and our farm currently participates in their seed program. Coors barley is "two row" malting barley, since this allows the seed room to grow, thus producing a higher quality crop. |

| SVF horse hay is top quality! Our extremely high altitude and sunny days produce plants with much more chlorophyll and beta-carotine than plants in lower altitudes. This high vitamin content is very beneficial for the horses that eat it. SVF horse hay is certified weed free by the Colorado Department of Agriculture. We take extra care of our hay by storing it under a hay shed to protect our product from the elements. This will preserve the quality of the product and ensure that you receive nothing but the best from SVF. Protein content analysis and grass mix information is available upon your request. SVF horse hay is only available in small, easy to handle bales. We can deliver it locally or transportation can be arranged. |

| seed canola field |
|
| SVF grew 140 acres of seed canola this 2006 season for Croplan Genetics. This "Hy Class" hybrid seed canola is developing into a good alternative and rotation crop. Canola leaves a beneficial residue in the soil and is a chemically low impact crop. Canola is usually grown so that it can be harvested for its seeds, which are then pressed and made into oil. Canola oil is a healthy alternative to other oils that are high in polysaturated (unwanted) fats. |
